Wallace et al.,

Since the publication of The Birds of Northeast Tennessee in 2008, there has
been one other
report on 6 May 2013 at Austin Springs. Thus, of the 6 records before today, 4
have occurred
at Austin Springs and 2 at Limestone, both in Washington Co. Therefore,
today's bird is the
first for Sullivan Co (& 7th for NE Tenn.).

Nice find, y'all.

A rare Red-necked Phalarope was found today (27 September 2014) at Paddle Creek
Pond in eastern Sullivan County, TN by a remnant group of birders extending
the Bristol Bird Club morning field trip. As far as we know this is the sixth
known record for the species in Northeast Tennessee.
