After much effort and a lot of luck Rick Knight was able to identify a Le
Conte's Sparrow at the farm where I live in Washington County. I found the bird
earlier in the morning and informed Rick that I had an Ammodramus sp.
Thankfully Rick decided to come look for it. We last saw the bird at about
11:30 am, Oct. 23.
The bird was mostly on a neighbors property so please let me know if you intend
to look for it.
Allan Trently and I were pretty sure we had a Le Conte's in the same area a
couple years ago. The habitat is good for the species.
