February 24, 2007 Greene County--parts of the western area, including Wal-Mart Distribution Center (WMDC) and the Joachime Bible Refuge unit of Lick Creek Bottoms Wildlife Management Area (JBR) Observers: Dianne Draper, King Gaut, Margaret Gaut, Don Holt, Don Miller, June Pinkston, Ruth Rinker, Jo Anne Routledge, Larry Routledge A 3.5 hour trip this afternoon by several regional birders produced a number of notable species, including: Greater White-fronted Goose (2 on Baughard Hill Road) Northern Shoveler (5 on Gravel Woods Road) Green-winged Teal (3 at WMDC) Ring-necked Duck (7 on Gravel Woods Road) Great Egret (at WMDC, fourth pond; present here since November) Northern Harrier (3 at JBR) American Woodcock (3 at JBR) Eurasian Collared-Dove (4 adjacent to West Greene High School, across the road at West Greene Free Will Baptist Church) Red-headed Woodpecker (on Green Road) Horned Lark (3 on Baughard Hill Road) Don Miller Greeneville, Greene Co., TN pandion@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
