The 72nd consecutive Elizabethton CBC was held on Sunday, 14 Dec.
25 observers in 6 parties tallied 69 species (+ 3 species in count week).
This was slightly below the recent 30-year average of 72 species.
(The all-time high was 80 species in 2012.)
Highlights:  Gr. White-fronted Goose, Am. Woodcock, Palm Warbler.
Also notable: Purple Finch - 5, Pine Siskin - 18, but no Red-br. Nuthatch.
Notably absent: Ruby-cr. Kinglet & E. Meadowlark.

The 62nd Roan Mountain CBC was held on Monday, 15 Dec.
8 observers in 2 parties found 53 species.  
This was above the recent 30-year average of 45 species and the most
since 1995 (54 spp.).
Highlight:  Northern Goshawk (1, imm.).
Also notable: Red-br. Nuthatch - 1 (low), Purple Finch - 2, Pine Sislin - 4.
