I observed a Double-crested Cormorant on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 3 and 4, at
Erwin Fishery Park at the fish pond.

At one time, the cormorant was resting on shore with the ducks and geese.

At another time, the cormorant was actively diving and foraging.

Tree Swallows (four at the most at one time) were also busy skimming the
surface of the pond.

There was also a cormorant (same individual?) at the pond on Sept. 25 for the
Herndon Bird Club's fall bird count.
