After attending the TWRA presentation on the Statewide Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Strategy addressing "species of greatest conservation need", Wallace Coffey, Don Hold and Bill Grigsby birded a meandering path back through Cocke and Greene Counties from Rankin Bottoms to the intersection of TN 107 and TN 81. Species sighted were

Double-crested Cormorant 8,
Great Egret 7,
Great Blue Heron 3,
Green Heron 2,
Wood Duck 4,
Canada Goose
Red-tailed Hawk 2,
Osprey 3,
Wild Turkey 7(2ad,5juv),
Killdeer 3,
Rock Dove
Red-headed Woodpecker 2,
Eastern Kingbird 3,
Eastern Phoebe
Bank Swallow
Northern Rough-winged Swallow
American Crow
Carolina Wren
Eastern Bluebird
Summer Tanager
Indigo Bunting h,
Blue Grosbeak
Red-winged Blackbird
Bobolink 3(1m,2f),
Eastern Meadowlark
