Saturday I was photographing on the AT between Carvers Gap and Round Bald.
I made a trip up the trail in the morning and again that afternoon. Besides the usual birds heard in around that area I heard two Hermit Thrushes in different areas.

One was heard off in the woods below the lower parking area on the NC side . The other was in the 2nd patch of woods going up the AT from Carvers Gap at about the switchback. This later spot is where I usually heard one calling last year as well.

Also in this second patch of woods I heard a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet both Friday Evening and Saturday. I has also heard it last week in the same area. I did not hear it this evening on my way to Jane Bald.

I also whistled up a Saw-Whet Owl Friday night at about 10:15 pm and it seemed to call from the same area Rob's did.... up the road to the Gardens.
