You can have both packages on your system at once. They should not
interfere with each other. The command-line innterface for liblouisutdml
is file2brl instead of xml2brl By default, liblouisutdml wil behave like
liblouisxml To see how to use the new features ijnntroduced by Bert and
how to get UTD markup, see the documentations ajnd also look in the
lbu_files directory at the files makeutd.cfg viewutd.cfg and volumes.cfg
Documentation for UTDML is in the works.

Note that liblouis and liblouisutdml will remain C libraries, so they do
not require a run-time environment and can thus be used with a variety
of high-level languages.

Liblouisutdml has Java bindings for use in BrailleBlaster. I am thinking
of writing a comand-line Java application to test them.
