Hi Soniya, Scanning children's books can be quite a challenge depending on how they are printed. The most difficult are the ones with lots of pictures with text right in the pictures. The easiest to scan, usually, are the chapter books for older kids. When I scan kid's books I use fine engine, and it would probably be best to try gray scale. Otherwise, scan the same page several times using different brightness levels and see which one works best. The few books I've scanned for very young children took lots of editing because I had to get rid of lots of junk characters caused by pictures. Kellie
