They can't be made on the keyboard, but if you use Word and have it set to 
change some things with auto formatting, when you do a double dash then the 
word, followed by a space, it changes it to an M-dash. Take care.

Hi Shannon,
An em-dash is a symbol that incorporates the double dash into one character,
if you follow me. It can't be made on the keyboard, but word processors have
a symbol for it.
