Shelley, the books you have sound great. (smile) I appreciate your
willingness to help. You're right that looking on the internet can really make
a difference when shopping. We have a lot of experienced internet users who do
the same thing. We also have a lot of people who aren't comfortable using the
internet very much or who are new to using computers. Since devices like the
Icon can download Bookshare content directly, I want to make sure we have books
that can help people with the information they need. I'm trying to look past my
own experiences to imagine how different types of Booksharians get the support
they need and am doing some brainstorming on how to help. It breaks my heart to
think of any of our Bookshare members or volunteers being hungry or not having
heat. I wish I had the money to send them each a check to tide them over.
I'm going to ask my dad to check our library's used bookstore for books like
The Tightwad Gazette or any of the Cheapskate books by Mary Hunt. I'll make
those top priority if I can find them.
