One side of the end seems to be rounded.
The other side seems to be flat.

Don't hate the Book Port, it's a wonderful thing and the problem is most
likely not the Book Port's fault. Make sure the small end of the USB cable
isn't bent. I had that happen once, went down to my friendly neighborhood
Radio Shack, and bought another cable. All was well, so don't give up hope
before trying everything you can.

I hate the bookport.
I have had mine for over 2 weeks and it has a problem.
I can not get the usb cable to go in it.
Now I will problely haft to send it off.
That makes me really mad.
Because the bookport was my favorite new toy.
I am not sure what the problem is.
I had no trouble before in using it with the usb cable.
