Julia, The microphone is tiny indeed. I don't have the BP in front of me but if memory serves, it is between the USB port and the end of the unit. It's a pin hole. It is slightly distorted though if you talk near to the Book Port. In fact, one of the first things put on my Book Port was Frank wishing me a happy birthday. I did do one or two memos on holiday as I had a shopping list to do. However, I tend to suspect that, when I deleted one or two of the memos I had, this might have caused my MP3s to become white noise. This may need experimenting with. > > One small question - we were looking for the microphone and even a sighted friend of mine could not find it! > > Julia. > > > >You may remember me writing yesterday about the problems I was having recording. As it turns out I checked with a friend with a bookport and had him play around with recording and his bookport locked up, he couldn't get out of the memo folder and the unit said recording paused when he tried to read a file. > >I get the feeling that many bookport users don't bother with recording anything. Even though the quality is not the best I think it would be quite handy if it worked reliably. So I guess what I am asking is for a few people to thoroughly test the recording feature to see if their unit eventually crashes or otherwise goes nuts. If it is a problem with the latest beta, how about a straight answer as to whether it is possible to downgrade the firmware to the latest stable release. > > > -- > No virus found in this outgoing message. > Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. > Version: 7.0.338 / Virus Database: 267.10.5/68 - Release Date: 10/08/05 > > >
