Many units, at least the early ones seem to have that problem. I've had my BP
for 3 years now and it's always done that. At least, I think it still does.
But i neverr use the memo feature so I can't say for certain but last time I
tried it, the beep was still there. Lou

No, it is a beep while recording. It is about every couple of seconds during
the recording. Very annoying.

When I first got my bookport over two years ago, there was no beep at the
beginning of the recording. Is that the beep you are getting? I now do have
such a beep. I believe it was added in version 2.0 of the firmware.
