I may be mistaken on this, so if anyone else has a better memory, please feel
free to correct me.
When I first got my bookport over two years ago, there was no beep at the
beginning of the recording. Is that the beep you are getting? I now do have
such a beep. I believe it was added in version 2.0 of the firmware.
