The one thought I had on the subject of random play was that the transfer tool could be made to generate a random playlist and send the files to the BP in the random order. The order would not change once the files were on the BP, but the user would get a different order every time the transfer was made. I know, I know, it's not *really* a true random play, but it's more random than what we have now, and would place the entire burden of randomization on the transfer tool instead of on the firmware of the BP. Just another pipe dream from Sarah. -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Bruce Toews Sent: Friday, February 24, 2006 8:11 AM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Re: random play At the risk of sounding repetitive, of repeating myself, of saying the same thing over again, and of restating something (in that order), the BP is a book reader first and foremost. It is also (not complaining, just being realistic) very old technology, with a limited capacity in terms of what can be programmed into the firmware. I would be very, very surprised if random play would be in the cards for this unit.
