But I'd been able to download all the books in question on the original card which had less memory, just a half gig. I only found myself in the position of having to retransfer, because after a time something occurred that disabled me from opening one of the volumes. But now I can't download all six books in either of the cards. I'm wondering if somehow Bookport has some sort of log for files that have been previously downloaded which needs to be modified so that the system will acknowledge that the cards are now free of all previous files. I know that there are other systems, mainly having to do with file download sites on the web, where you have to clean up the queues that one has created when downloading files, because if the queues become to full the download can't happen. I wonder if Bookport has a similar situation.

You may need to upgrade to a card with more memory. Jesse

Hi Jim, and everyone else who suggested I reformat the card to solve this problem: I reformatted the drive and tried the transfer again. the first five books went fine. When I got to vol 3 of half blood prince got the same message which says "can't create e:\harry potter and the halfblood princev3.brf_IX the directory or file can not be created." ----- Original Message ----- From: <jnuttallphd@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hello Yerba:
Reformat your card and try the transfer again.
Press the 1,3 and D,F keys at the same time. These are the keys in the four corners of the BP. You will be promoted to press them a second time to reformat the memory card.

Subject: [bookport] question about adding files to bookport

Hello:
I tried to download some of the Harry Potter audio books onto the bookport, and had to stop the process because one of the tracks in the mp3 files could
not be indexed properly. I then tried to download the braille formatted
files of same book, and am not able to download all six books, even though
the card I have now is a one gig card, and even though I aborted the
transfer of the audio files and deleted the files I'd initially downloaded. I should have enough room on this card for all six of the braille formatted books. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the reason for this problem?
This flash card has more memory than the original one that came with the
device. I should have room for all six of the braille formatted books and
then some.
Marta
