In this case, you would charge before you left, and if you were going to
be gone for more than a week or two, you would bring extra rechargeables
(already charged of course).

If I am camping without electric, I can't recharge. I also can't
recharge
while carrying my Book Port in my pocket. The thing that makes the Book
Port
special is that it is truly portable. To me, that means not being
tethered
to an electrical outlet. I would hate to leave it home because the
charge
had run out.
