None taken at all; but consider:

1. Even if you had the transfer software on five different computers, you
could do "create card" on each of them, and the card would be cumulatively
rebuilt, making it actually more of a valuable feature <thanks for thinking
of that; big smile>

2. I would sacrifice losing the bookmarks if it meant a simple easy way to
maintain the files on the card. And actually, and now it gets a little
complicated, given the small size of the bookmark files, the transfer
software could easily auto-copy them to a folder from the card every time
files were sent to the unit with no intervention from the user. Again, when
the "create card" option was selected, the folder of bookmarks could be
copied back to the card in their proper folders. Even with hundreds of
them, their small size would make the effort minimal and quite efficient.

This is fun.

uI don't like to be the nay-sayer, but here's what I see wrong with this
idea ... please, no offense intended.
If you have transfer software on more than one computer, then this scheme
won't work, becasue the two computers wouldn't be communicating with each
other.

Second, the main reason people want an auto-backup option instead of, say,
using a nice fast card reader, is that they want to keep their bookmarks and
the like, which this plan, as you have said, doesn't allow for. Again, no
offense intended here.
