Hi Suzanne:Perhaps you can sell your unit for nearly enough to buy you a BP2 if that's what you think you really need. This list has got perspective buyers and sellers together before. There's always Ebay or ocutrade and numerous other possibilities. There are many options for channeling your disappointment into action.

That's why I'm disappointed, as I just bought mine a little over a week ago. I'm not saying the Bp is a bad product, In fact, as I said, I am enjoying it immensely; however, had I known about the soon to be released Bp II, I would have waited. A Book Port is not the equivalent of an IPod; while it can beused for pleasure, for many of us, it is an accommodation for work or school. Support isn't planned for more than another year or two--Pamela said until existing part stocks are exhausted, so I very seriously doubt that there will be further development effort put into the present device. I consider it to be a perfectly parallel case to the original PAC Mate...when the newer BX and QX models were released, alldevelopment work on firmware for the original BNS and TNS models was stoppedand those models were frozen at the code level that existed at that time.----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Clark" <rclark0276@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, March 11, 2007 5:09 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: no upgrade path Dave, I would be surprised if there was an upgrade policy. ;) On the other hand, I would not be surprised if there were upgrades to current firmware that the current BP could support. Richard, that is a given, anyone who wants to get the latest always has the option to put a used, ooops, preloved, BP on the market. But I would think buying and selling would not go over too well on this list. Really, what APH does and so many other companies do, is not in theleast unusual. Its also not at all unusual to set a release date then pushit up, again and again. If people cant wait, well, it amuses me every Christmas when I hear ofpeople lined up in subzero tempuratures, waiting outside stores at 3 in the morning, for the doors to open so they can gointo debt ever deeper with their credit cards, buying up the specials. Thenthey struggle for the next decade to pay off that debt. LOL Dont buy the BP2. Wait a couple more years and there will be devicescoming out that are controlled by the mind. Oh the release date? Heck if Iknow, I dont have a crystal ball handy. LOL
