The mere act of checking could change the battery level if it's dropping,
since pressing the D+F keys activates some code and circuitry inside the BP
and that, itself, probably constitutes a drain.

What's funny is that whatever filetype I'm reading, the battery level
reading changes if I check it more than once. And it is always lower before
it is higher.
