Hi Howard and list:I haven't had that experience, but it isn't a good idea to leave the book port connected. Connect it to transfer things to or from it as you require.

Thanks! The note taker has me mixed up, I wish I had my hands on an embosser, that braille graph thing didn't make any sence. It sure holds stufff. One thing I found, which certainly drew my attention: If I have the bookport pluged in to my USB port, I can't boot the computer.
