Hello Shanda:

Based on your description, if I understand you correctly, you've never
been able to use the Book Port on this one computer, in particular and
when you connect, you do see it as a Removable Drive letter? If I'm
understanding correctly, then you have an incompatible chipset. You're
only alternatives are to use another computer or to go out and purchase
a card, which will give you a compatible USB port. You would then plug
the Book Port into the port on the card itself, rather than the ports on
your PC. Incidentally, you might want to also remove your Card Reader,
as they can also get in the way. If I'm missing anything, let me know,
but that's what you need to do next.

hello all,
I have reformatted the compact flash card several times, both within
the bookport and in a reader. I went and bought a brand new pack of
batteries today and put those in... The computer still sees the
bookport as a drive, but the transfer software, spider, and book wizard
reader do not see it as being connected.
I've tried absolutely everything I can think of, everything all of
you have suggested, and everything listed within the manual. Should it
matter in any way that I did not install the transfer software from a CD
but from the website or that my firmware revision is so so far back thus
maybe it won't work with this transfer software?
It still seems to be popping up the update window for a split second
even though it is telling me Bookport disconnected, and then the window
goes away.
  Any further suggestions, yall?
  Thanks so much,
Shanda
