Hi Keith,
no, the Book Port doesn't support PDF files, but they can be easily 
converted to text. After you have the PDF file open, go into the file menu 
to find save as  text. You can then send the document to the BP.
Hope you decide to purchase one, don't think you will regret it one bit.

I am thinking about purchasing a book port, and am wondering if the book
port can read .pdf files?   If so, can the book port give you a choice on
whether to read  a .pdf file as two seperate columns, like a magazine, or a
novel scanned  or a single column, like a standard document from word or
what not?
