[bookport] Re: bookport and batteries

They are saved more or less permanently. A month or so ago, I inadvertently 
failed to press D+E+F before changing batteries and when the new batteries 
were inserted, the time and date were _way_ off as a result. The settings 
from the previous battery change had been used and that had been several 
weeks earlier and at a totally different time of day.

I'm not sure what you are talking about.  But D E F saves your settings, so
that when you change batteries, you won't lose them.
