[bookport] an ADF. question:

I'm using an Epson perfection 3170 scanner and an ADF. with K1000 version 8.01. 
 I can get the pages to be pulled through the feeder mechanism.  Is it 
necessary to have software other than the drivers installed to make this thing 
work?  thanks
