Hi Richard:
Time and date, as well as other settings such as voice speed and volume can
be lost during fresh battery installation. Replacing batteries never
corrupts data in my experience. This includes any bookmarks you have set in
the files or your place in the file.
Skip is sure right though, that fixing everything back the way you like it
is easy enough when or if you need.
