[bookport] What Happens When Battery Dies?

Hello List,

My Book Port should be here in about a week. I have already started reading the documentation downloaded from APH. How long do you have to change batteries before losing data such as time and date? What other data is volatile and can be lost if Batteries die? Has data corruption been experienced during battery transition?

Thanks for listening to my newby questions.

Battery life is higher than anything else out there. If you listen to text
files, you get up to 60 hours. If you really want longer battery life, use
Lithiums. You get over 100 hours with them.

HiRuss and Val,

You will be quite happy with Audible books on the BP. It works quite
nicely. Battery life is a bit low but still very good. I get about 25
hours or so playing them and other MP3 files on it.

Subject: [bookport] I'm jumping in...

I've purchased my Book Port, and am anciously awaiting its arrival

I've long been looking for an accessible device for my audible.com
downloads that can handle the highest quality compression rates that I've
been downloading from audible for a number of years.

But CD burning and carrying a laptop when traveling to listen to these
books is inconvenient.

I'm really looking forward to testing out this device. All the other
features are valuable, and I'm as well looking forward to testing these
out also, but my first priority is good clear audio book listening.

I'm aware of the idiosyncracies of BP from my reading your messages, and
trust these issues will be addressed in the updates to the firmware.

By the way, how many Mb are on the flasch card that comes with the device?

Thanks,

- russ.

are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
12In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13If you look for me in earnest,
you will find me when you seek me. 14I will be found by you," says the
