The issue of so many well intended thank yours cluttering up a list came up on another list I'm a member of last week. it seems many newbie's don't know that netiquette doesn't enquire individualized thank yours because they add so much to list traffic. Traditionally, people put a, "thanks in advance or just thanks at the end of their request. If a thank you seems absolutely necessary, it's customary to send it to that person privately. I hope this helps. -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Donald L. I certainly respect good manners, but why constantly clutter this list even more with thank you messages. Taking it one step further, why did I send this to the list when I could have sent it privately? ----- Original Message ----- From: "jaybee" <jayjohnson62@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, October 01, 2007 1:37 AM Subject: [bookport] Re: Thanks for your assistance Thanks; it really does. The next area of prime concern was whether the present units would receive an update enabling them to play NLS. material and the answer is no. I hope that helps. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of jaybee Sent: Sunday, September 30, 2007 10:44 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Thanks for your assistance I want to express my appreciation to everyone who answered my request for help. You were very prompt in providing the help I needed. By the way, I know that it has been mentioned several times, but I would like to know if there has been any more information relating to the latest release of the new bookport? Thanks, Jesse
