Hi Walt and list:

They go by the name Imaspeaker. The stereo version is powered by three AA batteries, while the mono version requires only two. They are widely available.

Cheers,
Dave

The TDK speakers come (or used to, anyway) in both mono and stereo versions.
The ones I have (the stereo version) are about the size of a rather thin
book and they open and stand up in an inverted V shape. They take three
triple A batteries and sound really good with the BP. I can never remember
the name they go by, but someone will remember and post it here--they can be
found at Amazon and other online vendors. I'd suggest checking:

for the best price once you get the exact name to search for. I think I paid
around $20 or so for the stereo ones about eighteen months ago or so.

Can you give me more info on the TDK speakers? I am interested in what speakers other people are using since I am not a big fan of headphones. I was very sorry to hear about your BP. It sounded like something that would happen to me.

Yes, I do use a case for the Bookport, and at this particular time, it was inside the TDK portable speaker. However, as I'm sure you know, none of these cases are really water-proof. It was just an unfortunate accident, and I'm not really too upset about it since I do have another Bookport.

Hopefully, this one will either dry, or I will send the unit in for repair.

Hi, This won't help much right now but I have found it a good idea to put
my book port in a soft case in which I used to keep a small cassette
recorder. It has a handle for easy portability and room for some extra
batteries and an earbud. Just a thought but perhaps you can purchase a
raincoat for your drowned one! Bummer, I know.
