That is what makes my BrailleNote mPower so nice. You can have the default KeyNote Gold synth, or switch to Eloquence. If the BP had a choice of three or four, it would make many more people happy. To avoid this cost, though, maybe you should be able to order your BP with the one synth you want; pick from a list but only have one loaded, then pay for any more you want.

Speech synthesizers are very much a personal thing. Personally, I love doubleTalk/tripleTalk speech.One will never reacha consensus as to what is good synthesized
speech.
Personally, I'd pay extra for Double/Triple Talk. Others would likely do the oppsite. No right or wrong answer here.
