Hi Nancy: Thanks to you and the others for your comments on Overdrive. Is
Sound Taxi the only or best program for converting books to MP3 format and of
so, where is it available?

Have a great day
BILL

  Hi Bill,

If you have seen the messages regarding Sound Taxi, that is the program you
must use to convert the file to MP3.

It costs about $15 It works really well.

There are a couple steps involved first you have to down load the book from
the web site.
Then you use Sound Taxi to convert it.
Then you transfer the converted files on to the book port.
One other suggestion was made to me which is to copy the converted files from
your computer directly on to the flash card if you don't wan to speed them up
or anything.
I had a hard time with Jaws purchasing the program. There is supposed to be a
continue button on the bottomed of one screen that I couldn't find.
I called, and when they tried to charge the $3 service fee, I explained that
the site wasn't totally friendly. The fee was waved. I haven't had trouble
using the actual program.

  Good Luck.

  Nancy

Hi List: I am anxiously awaiting the new shippment of Bookports at APH. In
the meantime, I've jusst found out that I can download audio books from my
local library which uses Overdrive to download/play the books. The books
should be played at 32 bit, they say. Would these downloaded books be playable
on the Bookport? Thanks.
  BILL
