Mike,

-- the text below was copied and pasted from the BP User's Manual --

Retrieve Files

To send a file from Book Port back to the PC, move to the Notes folder with the Book Port Transfer software and highlight the file you wish to send. Right
click the file name and select Retrieve from the context menu that appears. When you select Retrieve, the Book Port Transfer software shows a Save As dialog
where you may select the location on your PC where you wish to save the file.

Synchronizing Files

Book Port Transfer offers a service that keeps files in your Book Port's Notes folder synchronized with files on your PC. For information about how to control
this service, see the
Note Synchronization
section of the Options dialog.

Keeping notes synchronized is a great way to keep important information with you at all times, yet remember to update that information weather it changes
on the PC or on Book Port. You may wish to keep a list of contacts, credit card numbers, or other information to which you must refer.

How does one transfer a file *back* from the Book Port to the computer?

BookPort team,

The Notes features on the BookPort for editing and for navigation are great for such a small but mighty unit! I would however, like to see a warning feature added to the Delete command for text that has been marked in a Notes file. This could be similar to the "press again" prompt used before deleting selected files or folders. Over the holiday, I used the BP to edit a file while on vacation away from home, and after marking a block of text, I accidentally pressed the Delete key combination, instead of the Paste key combination. Oh, the agony of delete! No "undo" command was there to restore the lost text as would have been the case with the full operating system capabilities of Windows. Thanks again for this excellent portable and affordable product.
