Hi Maria,

I too buy from Audible. Their books are much less expensive if you buy an annual contract.

Regards,

Don...

Hi Don,

Thank you so much for sharing this email with us. I am a member of Audible.com and can only afford to purchase two books a month from them which, depending on the length of the book, I devour in a week or so. This info you have given us will certainly go a long way to enhance my reading experience and pleasure.

Thanks again,

Maria

Their prices are quite low as well. $10 average.

Subject: [bookport] New Audio Book Site and NO D R M

Greetings,

I ran across this today and thought it was pertinent to BookPort users:

"eMusic fights Audible with DRM-free books Online music retailer eMusic
today revealed that it will begin selling audiobooks through its web-based portal, potentially upturning the traditionally closed-off digital audiobook
industry. Reflecting the company's existing approach to albums and songs,
eMusic will sell a selection of books in MP3 format. This will allow
virtually any computer or handheld to play the files regardless of format
support and will let users copy songs freely -- a break from books offered at Audible, iTunes, and similar stores, which often apply copy-protection to
each song."

There is more to the article. You may read it in it's entirety at
<http://www.macnn.com/articles/07/09/17/emusic.audiobooks/>.

So, it looks like we can now purchase less expensive and unprotected Audio
books. The eMusic audio books page is at
<http://www.emusic.com/audiobooks/index.html>.

Regards,

Don...
