Scott: The options in Book Port Transfer apply to files as they are sent. You cannot, for example, make all files become line-oriented just by flipping a switch. The Sections tab was designed to allow you to enter your own section markers. We provide some by default, but we can't anticipate every situation. In ideal conditions, you would be able to find something about the files you are sending which indicates a section, then add this string to the section markers. Note: only one section marker is ever used during one file transfer. That is, the first marker found in the file is considered to be the section marker for the rest of the file, regardless of the number of section markers you have defined. You can sort the markers, because preference is given to the markers highest in the list. Rob Meredith >>> scott@xxxxxxxx 06/02/05 05:30PM >>> Hi, Just received my bp. Kudos to the designers! A product that was ready to arrive. I see a great many uses for this little wonder. Could someone answer some questions options and sections. When using transfer program, do the options apply globally to all files on bookport or only to each file? For example, if the option for sections is changed to advance section by section instead of page by page, does that affect only files sent to bp at the time those options are in effect? Would the use of advance by lines not by sentences also be per file basis? Also could someone clarify section markers. Since advancing by sections did not work in a long document (800+ pages) I assume the file has to be prepared in some way for this. Would I place text like _next article where I want sections for example? Knowing how to create markers to make documents easy to navigate is very exciting after some thought. Thanx for any suggestions, Scott D. Henning Cheif Engineer KSUT Public Radio
