Hi Dixie: Well, I don't know. I'll have to run it by the programmer and see what they think. In the meantime, just make sure you are moving all of the associated files when you copy. Or, even better, here's an easier solution to try: 1. If the folder where you want the book to be placed is already on the Book Port, go into Book Port Transfer, press alt f and use the arrow keys to find the folder and press the Enter key. This will open the folder where you want the book to be placed. 2. Press alt l to locate the file you want to send and transfer in the normal way. This will transfer the book to that folder and you won't have to move anything. If you want to do another transfer to a different folder during that same session, do alt f, and then press the Backspace key to close that folder and open another one. I think once you get used to this, you may find it much easier than your preferred method. Please let me know if I can assist you further. First of all, I reformatted the CF card on the Book Port and then proceeded to reload my books. Using Windows Vista Home Premium, and the most up to date transfer and firmware versions for book port,. This is what I did: 1. Load 3 books into the Book Port using the transfer software. 2. After the transfer had successfully completed I navigated to the removable drive by way of Explorer on My Computer. 3. Moved the 3 Book Share Books from the root directory into a file called UNREAD. 4. Closed out Explorer and Safely removed hardware. 5. On the Book Port found that the 3 books were still in the root directory. So moved The Bible and Heaven to UNREAD folder and the third, The Shack to another folder called READING. 6. Tried to open and read The Shack but got the same IO Data Error. 7. Tried to open the book Heaven and it opened fine. 8. Moved the book The Shack out of the READING folder and into the UNREAD folder. 9. Tried to open The Shack now and it opened properly. My conclusion. When I am moving the books through the computer they are only partially being moved. Then when I move them through the Book Port they must be moved to the exact location I had moved them through the computer to bring the whole file into one location. I can then move them on the book port and they will open correctly wherever I move them. If you are still with me...thank you! Ok, so now is this a problem with Vista, with the way I am moving the files around on the computer, or some other error? Oh, and this never happened to me while using my XP machine, I used to move my books this way all the time. So, I don't know if it is a Vista issue or a newer firmware issue. I realize I can avoid the whole issue by only moving files around through Book Port, but the moving of files through Explorer is so much faster and would prefer to still be able to do it that way if possible. Ok, I will be quiet and listen in for ideas. Thanks,Dixie
