Just curious to hear about if any progress has been made towards fixing some of
the remaining rough spots in the Book Port's firmware. In particular, I'm
interested in progress on the following issues:

1) The ability to list files in alphabetical order

2) Added alarm functionality (e.g., every 2nd Monday/every fourth Friday in
month, the ability to review all missed alarms, and not just the most recent,
etc.)

3) Making the NoteTaker a bit more reliable (sometime I notice it duplicates
text I have entered).

4) Enhanced foreign language support (e.g., German and French in addition to
Spanish).

5) Recognition of / accurate gauge readings for different battery types (NiMH,
Lithium, etc.)

6) Random play for selected MP3 files/folders.

Then of course is the whole issue of the Spyder re-write (we're still
waiting!!) and on-the-fly adjustments to playback speed (I realize that this is
theoretically not possible, but then again, bumble bees shouldn't fly).

For those interested in statistics, I have been using a set of lithium
batteries for the past few weeks, and the Book Port shows 3,800 minutes of use,
with 100% remaining battery capacity. I figure the batteries will poop out at
about 6000 minutes.

Regards,

Peter

PS: To Jacques - thanks for the useful tip about Note Tab text editor! I like I
like.
