Things do get dirty over time.  Human fingers have natural oils, if they
didn't we would have problems.

One night our talking caller ID fell into a full mop bucket.  It didn't 
work after that.  My husband is an electronics tech.  He took it apart
and 
dried it out, but to no avail.  There must have been something highly 
corrosive in the MR. Clean, or whatever it was in the water.

Just the thought of that happening to my Bookport...
