Have you ever though of getting wwv on a shortwave radio? When I want accurate time I use this method and it's spot on.

Hi George and list! It's been my experience that if before changing batteries, I use the change batteries command (D+E+F), then change batteries reasonably quickly, the date and time settings hold reasonably close. If, however, I don't do that, date and time will need to be reset once the new batteries are installed. Others' experiences have varied a bit from this. If I happen to be at home when I change batteries, I'll usually attempt to double check the proxemity of the time with WWV as I have entered it as a Skype out contact in my contact list. When taking net lag into account, this means my time might be as much as 5 to 10 seconds off. If on the other hand, I am not at home when new batteries are required, I attempt to use my cell phone to check or reset the bookport. My cell phone is kept reasonably accurate by syncing with the time on my bluetooth GPS receiver. Since I use alarms on the bookport fairly extensively, it is important that the clock maintain good setting.Cheers, Dave----- Original Message ----- From: "George Cham" <bull.dogs@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, July 07, 2007 9:00 PM Subject: [bookport] Date and TimeI was wondering, when changing the batteries, Do I need to reset date/time?
