It has been 100 years since I saw Text Aloud, so I do not know how it
compares, but there is a nifty little program for converting text to speech
called Dimio.

If you go to

www.blindcooltech.com <http://www.blindcooltech.com/>

and search for Dimio, you can get a demonstration and all the particulars.
For an average book, say 300 pages, it may take 30 minutes to do the
conversion.

Yes on your computer. If you have Jaws 8 then likely you also have the real
speak voices. These work very well for making mp3's out of your text files
with Text Aloud.

Rick,

You said, "Also the BP transfer software can do this for free providing you
have other SAPI voices on the system." How can I tell if I have a SAPI
voice on the system...by system, do you mean on my computer?

Thanks,

Nancy
