Hi Robert,
thanks for the description. I have a number of devices that I can use with
this headset.
By the way, how does it rate in comfort?

Thanks,
Scott

Subject: [bookport] Bluetooth wireless headset and Book Port

Hi All,

I am currently enjoying a wireless set of headphones with my Book
Port and thought that others may benefit from a description of them.

The head phones are Bluetooth and are made by Logitech specifically
for the Apple iPod. The headphones are the type that fit over the
ears and the band goes behind the neck. The headphones are not closed
so they do not significantly block out outside noise.

They come with a Bluetooth transmitter that is roughly the size of a
compact flash storage box. It is actually a bit thicker than that but
not a lot. The transmitter was designed to snap on the end of an
iPod. It has a male mini phone plug that plugs in to the ear phone
jack on the iPod when it snapps in place.

In addition, a six inch or so cable is part of the package. This
cable has a female mini phone jack on one end and a male mini jack on
the other. So, one can use this cable and plug the transmitter in to
any mp3 player. This works great with the Book Port. I also use them
with my BrailleNote and pc. I find that I like to put the Book Port
on my belt and stick the little transmitter in my pocket. This really
works well and it is so nice to be free from the headphone cable.

The transmitter will only work with the headphones that it ships
with. In other words, you cannot use other bluetooth headsets with
the transmitter. The headphones have a volume control on them and it
does change the volume of the headphones so you can easily adjust the
Book Port volume from the headphones. The sound quality is very good.
I would say not quite as good as the Sennheiser PX100 headphones but
not bad at all. The system comes with a battery charger which allows
one to charge both the battery in the headset and the battery in the
transmitter at the same time. As far as I know, the batteries are not
user replaceable. I haven't had them long enough to have tested it,
but you are suppose to get about 8 hours of continuous use between charges.

These Logitech Bluetooth headphones for the Apple iPod are available
from Amazon for $94 with a $50 mail in rebate which goes back to Logitech.
