I hope this doesn't sound like a cop out, but I think that must have
been just coincidence. The speech synthesizer controls how and where
those abbreviations get pronounced, and we don't have much control over
that.

Hi, Larry and Rob,

I have wondered what happened to the neat feature I had noticed
in Firmware beta 15 that caused Book Port to say drive when
reading by line and doctor when reading continually for dr. and
street and saint for St. respectively. These abbreviations pop
up annoyingly often in The New York Times Large-print Weekly and
other web Braille magazines. Hope this wasn't the start of the
battery drain issue. Smile!

Keep up the awesome work.

Rob Fairclough
