That's why I asked, because I'd never done beta testing before and wanted to make sure. Can you imagine how dire the consequences could be if the betas were truly timed evaluations? I don't even like to think of the problems this could cause.

What the agreement says and what is actually coded into the firmware are two
entirely different things. Besides, it does _not_ say that the beta will
expire--only that it is intended to be used for 90 days. In other words,
this is not a guarantee, but a warning.

The license agreement you click "yes" on to become a beta tester plainly
says that betas are intended for use only for three months from the date of
download.

   Where did you get the idea that the bookport beta would time out. That
