I always use Kurzweil 1000 when transferring books to my book courier.
It gives you 2 options, these including text or kes file format. I've
found text format is most accurate in book courier with respect to
following navigation by word and sentence however for paragragh and page
navigation it is not at all accurate. When using the kes format
navigation in book courier is seemingly accurate for page navigation but
not so for sentence. As I'm mostly interested in sentence navigation in
order to back up from time to time to re-read things by sentences, this
inaccuracy stuff is tolerable.

If you're using the transfer software, you would probably need to
convert them to text. If you have kurzweil 1000, you should be able to
send the file without converting it.
