Hi Caroline,

No need to mess about with routing the JAWS cursor, just press the
application key to bring up the context menu when you get to the BC tool,
then press D for delete, then confirm it.

Just a tip for ya.

Marie,

If you want to remove the transfer tool from the start-up group on your PC
so that it will no longer start automatically, go to your start menu with
the Windows key, then go into Programs and then Startup. Move down the
listed programs until you hear BCT Transfer Tool (I think it's something
like that), route Jaws to your PC cursor and right-click to open a menu.
One of the options near the end of the menu is Delete, and entering on that
will ask you whether you want to delete the short-cut. Press the space bar
on Delete Shortcut and you won't be bothered with the transfer tool starting
up automatically in future, but as Steve says, your BC will no longer be
detected automatically, so if you need the transfer tool, you will have to
start it manually, either from your start menu or from an icon on your
desktop if you still have one.

HTH,

Caroline.

Hi Marie,

You have to have the Transfer Tool start automatically, if you want the BC
to be auto detected. If the Tool is not loaded, how can it detect the BC?
Or am I missing something obvious?

Subject: [bookcourier] Transfer tool at start up

When I updated the transfer tool and my bc recently, I checked the option to
start the transfer tool when the bc is connected.
Now, when I start my pc, the transfer tool starts automatically even when
the bc is not connected.
I would like to uncheck that option.
can't find out how to do it. Sandra gave me clear instructions before but I
lost all my archived files recently and of course can't get back to them
now.
Would be grateful for any help.
Thanks to all in advance.

Cheers now,

Marie
