[book_talk] my current read and other stuff

Hello RoseMarie and all.
I know I haven't posted in a while, but it is nice to get a nudge as a
reminder so thanks for that.
I know what you mean about running into some awful books. I've been having
that experience lately too. I started reading a new author named
Christopher Reich and I got about halfway through the book and decided I
just didn't feel like reading it anymore. I like thriller type books, but
this one just didn't grab me. Maybe I'll go back to it and maybe not.
Regardless I don't think I'll get around to it until the beginning of nect
year. I have two more books by this same guy and now I need to decide if I
feel like reading them.
At the present time I'm reading two different books. One is large print and
one is from BARD. The large print one is called Manhunt by janet Evanovich
and the audio one is Goodbye for now. this book is about a software
engineer who creates a program that allows people to find their soul mates.
When he finds his they fall in love. then the girl's grandmother dies and
his mate is inconsolable. In the meantime the software engineer loses his
job because the software he designed worked so well that the dating site he
was working for begins to lose money. Being unemployed and attempting to
console his new love causes him to tinker with his original software design
and invent an electronic replica of his girlfriend's dead grandmother. From
there an idea is born. I won't tell you what it is. if you want to know
you'll just have to read the book. Smile.
Something else I've been doing that has taken me away from books for a
little while is learning all about my new iPhone which I got on Oct. 5th.
I've used the BARD Mobile App to read two magazines and one short book so
far
and I've also been downloading additional titles to reade later on.
Hope all are doing well. I'm going to try harder to post more often.
