This is a very sad story, it must have been tough to experience.
I agree that humans are very complex beings. Which is all the more reason to
treat other with respect on a virtual forum.

Judy has been a good friend of our family for many years, and really a
treasure for Oregon birding, in my view. I've never met Jeff in person, but
when I read this story, I'm reminded that he showed some real human decency
in this instance.
