Picture: Jennifer Bruce London - Buried under laundry or swallowed by the washing machine, socks have always had a way of vanishing into thin air. Now, at last, an ingenious technology company may have come up with an answer. European firm Blacksocks has invented a pair sold with a microchip sewn into the fabric, allowing them to be tracked by a simple smartphone app. Just take out your mobile, do a quick circuit of the room and the app will beep when it is near the missing sock. The waterproof chip can even monitor how many times a sock has been through the wash and how much it has faded. Itâs certainly ingenious, but super socks donât come cheap â ten pairs will set you back Â117 (about R1400). For that price, you could buy a hundred pairs from the supermarket, so that a few lost or faded socks would be neither here nor there. - Daily Mail Source URL: http://tinyurl.com/9n75fuc
