This has now become fully available for more contexts than just
web-pages - before, you could either via chrome menu, or via google
assistant, ask it to read out a page's contents for you, but, seems like
you can now invoke a similar form of output and formatting in more
contexts, quite easily - google reading mode:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.accessibility.reader
During initial startup wizard, I told it to assign this functionality
under the secondary accessibility hotkey - power and volume-up key
combo, since, while it suggests double-volume-rocker shortcut, that's
the one that's, by default, used to activate an deactivate talkback.
Either way, after initial setup, choosing voices, etc., it means I can
now, in quite a lot of different contexts, activate this software, and
have it present a nicely formatted/laid-out rendition of the screen's
contents, including working very well for long webpages, and have it
read the contents out in a nice/decent voice, with a play/pause button,
settings button, and, for partially sighted people, formatting options
as well - nice one!
