Ok, vodacom direct guys had 'new' phone delivered here today, and since have been wanting to move over to android, I went for what could now get hold of without upgrading contract or anything, so although it's running android gingerbread, went for samsung galaxy Y pro B5510, since after listening to Hanif's podcast, chatting to guys on accessible-android mailing list, and double checking with Peter Meijer, from seeingWithSound, etc., went for this unit, since aside from touch screen, it also has an optical track pad, as well as a full qwerty keyboard. Either way, only initial issue was getting it to start talking since had to myself install talkBack screen reader on it, and then tell it google account settings linked to one of my gMail accounts, to then get it to download and install relevant TTS synthesiser, but now seems to be operating, talking,, relatively usable etc. Will need to get used to rather different interface, and still get around to trying out various specific apps already have on my toDo list, to get around to downloading/installing, including it's specific support for my one specific programming language I work in, and then let's see how it goes from there, but, thus far, aside from needing sighted help to get it to start talking, it does seem alright, but anyway...
